Plans Shaping Up For SF Cannabis Day 2009, Under New Management!

Posted in Global Marijuana March, Marijuana Activism on Apr 09, 2009

San Francisco Cannabis Day 2009 is taking place Saturday, May 2 at Civic Center Plaza from 11:00 AM until 6:30 PM.

Delta Dove Productions, a new company, has taken on the task of re-organizing and producing this year’s event.   A free concert, booth vendors, and a medical use compassion tent have all been confirmed.

The following bands form the show’s line up: Miles Schon Band, The Mermen, Bluesetta Band, Nick Gravenites and Animal Mind,The Pyrx Band, and Los Marijuanos. (Sound Reinforcement, stage, stage crew, backline and truck provided by Renegade Productions of San Rafael.)

Some confirmed vendor booths include: Bluesetta’s Brown Bag Diner (featuring Odwalla Juice Drinks), www.kine2b.com medical marijuana delivery service of SF & Oakland, and the Community Activism Booth hosted by Shona and Axis of Love. Vendors who have not yet made booth reservations are asked to contact Tom the Nurse by e-mailing tom@kine2b.com.  Space is limited and attendance is sure to be high again this year (har har), so vendors should inquire about reservations as soon as possible.

This event is organized to coincide with the Global Marijuana March, a global rally for marijuana legalization.  As such, there will be a march to coincide with this event.  A route will be published on this site as soon as the details are confirmed.

For the record: San Francisco ordinances prohibit public smoking at this event, but a private, secure tent will be available for qualified patients with an ID/doctor’s note.   Practices and procedures, people;  practices and procedures.

In this web-bitch’s own practical language, there’s gonna be a ton of awesome shit going on all day.   Patient, stoner, occasional toker, non-smoking supporter, or otherwise, you should plan on hanging out with us for the afternoon to make a demonstration to all about how much support there really is for legalizing the good plant.  Besides, could there be a more chill crowd than 15,000 stoners?  Hell no. So round up your buddies, load up the van (or BART car), and come chill with us in the grass in the middle of the city.  15,000 is a good number of attendees, but with your help, we can make it even more.  Admission is free and really, the only other shit going on May Day is running around a pole with pastel ribbons attached, so y’know… be there.
